Red Shoe Awards for the Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley What a Fantastic Event

by Cindy Crean

Last night we were so fortunate to be a part of the Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley’s Third Annual Red Shoe Awards. The Ronald McDonald House epitomizes the idea of giving back to the community.  The Ronald McDonald House is located in Valhalla, NY, on the grounds of the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, and their staff and volunteers provide tremendous support to families whose children are in the hospital.  We loved the idea of people wearing red shoes to this event.   Thank you for honoring us as well.  We are so glad to have made the connection with Ronald McDonald House!  Learn more about Ronald McDonald House here.Red shoes and award

We loved everything about H.E.R.’s acceptance speech at last night’s 2019 GRAMMY Awards Ceremony.   First off, the Best R&B award she won was announced by the group BTS from South Korea.  It was especially awesome how once H.E.R. came on stage, she talked about how “she didn’t get on that stage by herself; it was her team that got her there,” and then proceeded to call up her team to accept the award with her!

Check out the video above if you missed H.E.R.’s acceptance speech!

How would you respond if you saw this advertisement?

“Applications are invited from women of any age, background, and occupation, but they will have to prove fitness and commitment. They will have to put up with real pain and discomfort. They will wonder every ten steps what they are doing but they have the opportunity in an epic endeavor.”  The classified ads of The Telegraph

I recently heard this ESPN “30 for 30” podcast about a group of women who were the first to travel to the North Pole some 20 years ago.  Their story really resonated with me because it was a disparate group of woman who came together to accomplish a goal.  The story highlights their courage, fears, intrepidness, and sense of adventure – all very admirable qualities.  Have a listen for yourself here or, if you are more of a reader, the Smithsonian also published an article about these amazing women here.  By the way, had I seen that ad, I would have jumped at the chance to go with them!

We’d love to hear if you would have responded to this ad!
